Over the years Kershaw and Zero Tolerance  have come up with sharp designs that almost always surpass expectations. Whether it is a handy general-use folder or a fixed blade with a tactical flair, the brands’ knives not only look good, but also perform.

Kershaw and Zero Tolerance both also waste little time resting on their laurels, leading the way in cutting-edge innovation. And the brands have continued to do so recently with a slew of new knives certain to get enthusiasts, well, enthused. Here is a look at three sweet automatic knives from Kershaw and two manual folders from Zero Tolerance that cut to the quick of top-notch engineering.

Zero Tolerance 0452CF

The original Zero Tolerance 0454 was a drool-inducing knife with one huge drawback — it was a very limited edition. The collaboration between ZT and Dmitry Sinkevich, however, has gotten a little less arduous to own. Zero Tolerance has introduced a version based on the original that is available to more than just a select few — the 0452CF. The knife has the same dimensions as the original, including a 4.1-inch blade. But there have been some tweaks, most notable a carbon fiber front scale and S35VN dual-finished blade. The 0452CF is smooth opening due to its KVT ball-bearing system and built-in flipper. It also features a titanium frame lock and hardened steel lockbar. MSPR: $275.
