Since Knife Showcase launched earlier this week, I’ve received many questions and requests regarding the site. I want to let everyone know that I will respond to you. I’m running a bit behind due to the volume of messages, but that doesn’t mean your questions are any less important. I’m committed to giving you the best experience and I will get back to you.

This show is a homecoming for us–we attended some great shows at this hotel back when it was the Hyatt-Regency, and Knoxville was home to several Blade Shows when we were producing that show. The Marriott is next door to the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, and convenient to the National Knife Museum, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is a convenient location with a 1 day drive of over 60% of the nation’s population.

The USN Gathering
It’s the Ultimate Party for USN Enthusiasts.
It’s not a knife show. It’s not an industry trade show. It’s not a 9 to 5 stroll through a bunch of crowded aisles filled with tables and people that you don’t know. It’s a huge family reunion with family members who you’ve personally chosen to call your own. There will be no strangers at The Gathering. Just hundreds of your closest friends and chosen family.
Sure, there’s a show too, but no boring, confusing aisles to navigate. The Gathering is set up in intimate quads, where a novice and two established makers or suppliers will join a major maker. A circular traffic flow guarantees that you won’t miss anyone, and makes it easy to re-locate them as well.
There will be plenty of knives, gear, lights and toys, but first and foremost, they’re all friends who you already know and trust because you deal with them and see them on the USN pretty much every day.
Speaking of family, we’ve set up special Spa options for the wives- they deserve to be pampered.
Aside from the show itself, have you ever imagined Traders’ Cove coming to life? You’re going to see it happen at The Gathering each night in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Expendables Knife NOT Covered In November BLADE
I just got word that at least one of the knives used by Mike Statham as knife expert Lee Christmas in The Expendables is one of Darrel Ralph’s old AXD folders. Darrell says his list price for the knife as shown in the movie is $775. He says it was one of the first 3D machined knives on the market. He says no one from the movie contacted him about the knife being in The Expendables—not that he minds the publicity, of course—and that it may have been a knife from the collection of one of the movie’s principals. ABS 2nd All-Forged Blade Exposition This Weekend
If any of you are in the area or simply want to get away this weekend, the American Bladesmith Society will have its 2nd All-Forged Blade Exposition Aug. 20-21 at the Sheraton Gunter in San Antonio, Texas. Check out some of the world’s best handforged knives, damascus knives and much more, visit the Alamo, check out the riverwalk, and just plain have a good ol’ time in ol’ San Antone. Plaza Cutlery Custom Knife Show
The “Plaza Cutlery Custom Knife Show” will be held on Saturday October 2nd and Sunday the 3rd, 2010
This show will be a return of the old “California Custom Knife Show” format and will be held at the Costa Mesa Hilton which hosted our show 2 years ago and also held the last “California Custom Knife Show”. We can get 75 tables in the show so that will be the maximum.
