Does This Change Anything About the BLADE Show in June in Atlanta?
Nope! The BLADE Show in Atlanta that takes place every June will continue as it has in years past.
BLADEShow.com is ready to rock ‘n’ roll with online ticket purchases, exhibitor information, travel arrangements, schedules, and more. BLADE Show 2018 takes place June 1 to 3 in Atlanta, Georgia, but you don’t want to wait. The earlier you lock in, the better.
Words can’t do justice to some knives. Here’s one of them.
The American Bladesmith Society (ABS) selected Terry Vandeventer to make the Master Smith of the Year Knife for 2018. He didn’t disappoint.
Vandeventer posted these photos of the knife to Facebook:
You can get your hands on this incredible knife when it’s auctioned at the BLADE Show June 1-3 in Atlanta. Get tickets and show information at bladeshow.com.“It was a pleasure to make and it’s going to a good and worthy cause,” Vandeventer wrote.
Proceeds from the auction of the knife will benefit the ABS.
Features
Feather-pattern damascus steel blade
Damascus fittings
Argentium silver and copper ornamental filework
File-worked frame handle
Museum-fitted woolly mammoth ivory
How You Can Get This Knife
“Professional photos will be taken, and it will be auctioned at the BLADE Show in Atlanta next June. Proceeds going to the ABS.,” Vandeventer wrote in this post.
The BLADE Show in Atlanta will enter its 37th year come next June, and that comes with one of those “good problems to have” problems. The BLADE Show is too popular. It’s maxed out on capacity, and the Cobb Galleria isn’t too keen on hosting exhibitors on the roof.
That means the BLADE Show is looking at adding a second edition in 2018, likely in the Portland, Oregon, area. If that sounds familiar, it’s because there used to be a BLADE Show West in Portland several years back. What’s old is new again.
How You Can Help
However, there’s still a big question mark over this expansion. Want to help? Here’s what we at BLADE need you to do:
BLADE Show 2018 will host the 5th BLADE University with instruction from such teaching pros as ABS master smith Timothy Potier (right), here giving a few tips to budding knifemaker Zander Nichols.David Broadwell won Best Art Knife at BLADE Show 2017 for The Wanderer. (Ward image)The BLADE Magazine Knife-Of-The-Year® Awards will be named at BLADE Show 2018. The BLADE Magazine 2017 American-Made Knife Of The Year is the Kranos by Spartan Blades. (Ward image)BLADE Show 2017 hosted the Men’s and Women’s World Champtionship Cutting Competition. Nicole Worden shows her championship form in winning the Women’s Title for the second consecutive year.
BLADE Show 2018 will return to the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, Georgia, June 1-3 for the 37th annual rendition of what has become the seminal event in the world of knives. More exhibitors and patrons attend the BLADE Show than any other knife event. Every continent in the world with the possible exception of Antarctica will be represented. Custom and factory knives in all categories—tactical, kitchen, EDC, art, utility, combat, commemorative, antique, bowies, hunters, skinners, daggers, camp knives, assisted openers, flippers, balisongs, neck knives, folders, multi-tools, swords, tomahawks, sharpeners, knifemaking equipment, displays—if it cuts, BLADE Show 2018 will have it.
BLADE Show 2018 will be many events within the event.
